The young riders from Yamaha Thailand Racing Team delivered outstanding performances on the international stage at the third round of the YAMAHA BLU CRU Asia-Pacific Championship 2026 held at Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, Indonesia. “Gus” Theeranut Thabthim exploded in form, achieving 1 win and 2 podiums across the two races, moving up to second place in the overall standings, just 2 points behind the leader. Meanwhile, “Ink” Aswanan showed steady progress, aggressively overtaking competitors in both races.
The YAMAHA BLU CRU Asia-Pacific Championship 2026 Round 3 took place from 17-19 July 2026, featuring over 21 top young riders from the Asia-Pacific region competing at the challenging Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit. In Race 1 on Saturday, 18 July, Gus-Theeranut, riding bike number 9, started from the 6th grid position and maintained a strong position among the leaders throughout the race. He made a decisive move near the end to take the lead on the final lap and crossed the finish line first with a total time of 18 minutes 57.228 seconds, securing an exciting victory.
Meanwhile, “Ink-Aswanan,” starting from 17th on the grid, faced a tough challenge from the outset but managed to overtake several riders, finishing in 7th place, 12.816 seconds behind the winner.
In Race 2 on Sunday, 19 July, Gus-Theeranut maintained his strong form, starting from the second row and quickly moving into the leading group. He held third place midway through the race but dropped to fourth in the final two laps. Nevertheless, he used sharp overtaking skills to pass two riders on the last lap, finishing second with a total time of 18 minutes 53.607 seconds, just 3.078 seconds behind the winner, Australian rising star Hunter Corney. “Ink-Aswanan” continued to impress with his development, battling in the midfield but overtaking seven riders to finish ninth with a time of 19 minutes 08.764 seconds, 18.235 seconds behind the winner.
After six races across the first three rounds, Gus-Theeranut has risen to second place in the overall standings with 102 points, just 2 points behind leader Hunter Corney, intensifying the fight for the annual championship. Meanwhile, Ink-Aswanan holds 10th place with 29 points. The next round of the YAMAHA BLU CRU Asia-Pacific Championship 2026 will be held on 5-6 September 2026 at Mobility Resort Motegi, Japan, where Yamaha Thailand Racing Team's young riders will continue to pursue victories and accumulate points on the Asia-Pacific stage.
