The Sun Reports: Thepchaiya Washing Underwear Due to Shortage Before Facing OSullivan in World Open 2026 Final

"The Sun" reported that Thepchaiya Un-Nooh, the Thai snooker player, had to wash extra underwear at the sink because he did not have enough to wear before his match against Ronnie O'Sullivan in the World Open 2026 final.

On 22 Mar 2026 GMT+7, "The Sun," a prominent English media outlet, reported that Thepchaiya Un-Nooh, ranked 39th in the world, washed his underwear himself at the sink before facing Ronnie O'Sullivan, the 12th-ranked English player, in the final of the "World Open 2026" held in Wuxi, China.

The reason Thepchaiya had to wash his underwear himself was because he did not anticipate facing unexpected difficulties beyond his control during the tournament, as he had brought too few pairs. He posted on Instagram, "I'm out of underwear and socks; staying longer than expected."

Thepchaiya "F-One" Un-Nooh defeated world number one Judd Trump 6-4 to reach his first final in six years. Ronnie O'Sullivan narrowly beat China's rising star Wu Yize 6-5. Thepchaiya and Ronnie have met three times before, with Thepchaiya winning once and Ronnie winning twice.

On social media and at the Victoria Snooker Academy, his team, people joked but also encouraged Thepchaiya "F-One" Un-Nooh to win the championship, even if he had to compete wearing underwear he washed himself.
