Biw Phuripol Ranks Top 5 Worldwide in U20 100m Sprint

"Biw" Phuripol Boonsorn ranks among the top 5 globally in the 100m sprint for the World Athletics U20 category.

On 24 May 2026, World Athletics released rankings for male sprinters under 20 years old (U20). "Thephbiw" Phuripol Boonsorn, a Thai national short-distance runner, holds joint 5th place worldwide in the U20 category based on his 9.94-second 100m performance on 11 December 2025 at the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand, setting a new Thai national record. This time ties him with South African sprinter Bayanda Walaza.

Phuripol Boonsorn's new sprint records, achieved under coach Gentry Bradley of the Thai national athletics team, include:

On 11 December 2025, 100m in 9.94 seconds (new Thai national record).

On 13 December 2025, 200m in 20.07 seconds (new Thai national record).

On 15 December 2025, 4×100m relay in 38.28 seconds (new Thai national record).

On 25 April 2026, 60m in 6.62 seconds (personal best).

On 7 June 1986, 200m in 20.03 seconds (new Thai national record).

In 2026, "Thephbiw" Phuripol earned international medals including: gold in the men's 60m at the 2026 Asian Beach Games on 25 April with 6.62 seconds (PB); gold in the men's 4×100m relay at the 2026 Taiwan Athletics Open on 6 June with 38.64 seconds; gold in the men's 200m on 7 June with 20.03 seconds (new Thai record); gold in the mixed 4×100m relay at the 2026 Asian Relays Athletics Championships on 21 June with 41.14 seconds (PB); and silver in the men's 4×100m relay on 22 June with 38.28 seconds.
