A former amateur boxer posted about having defeated national team members but not being sent to the Olympics; instead, the association sided with a superstar.
Panphet Ch. Naphatlung, a former Thai national amateur boxer, posted comments regarding the Amateur Boxing Association’s plan to bring in “Nabil Anan,” a top Thai boxer from ONE Championship, to try out for the national team with the goal of winning gold at the 2028 Olympics.
In the post, he said, “Why the drama? Once upon a time, I won every championship in Thailand, competing for the Armed Forces Sports team. I defeated two or three national team members, but the ones who lost to me got to go to the Olympics.”
He added, “At the national championship, I won the title, decisively beating Super Bang from Rattana Bundit University by more than 20 points. Yet two months later, the association hired Super Bang for the national team, paying him 100,000 to 200,000 baht per month—I was truly baffled.”
