On 26 August 2026, as the 2026 Asian Games approach in Nagoya, Japan from 19 September to 4 October, Thai badminton men's singles hopeful View Kulwut Wititsan admits he is not yet a favorite to claim gold.
View Kulwut said, “My past performances have been disappointing. For this Asian Games, I may be a contender, but my form in the last two to three tournaments hasn’t been very good. I sincerely hope to perform better than before.”
“Previously, I was eliminated early and my form wasn’t consistent. It might be a bit difficult for this year’s Asian Games. But I believe I have a better chance than before because last time I faced many problems. This year, the main issue was injury, but now I’m fully recovered and have been training very well, preparing thoroughly for the Asian Games.”
Regarding his toughest opponent, he said, “Certainly, I have to fight myself first. I feel I’ve lost confidence in my game, which sometimes causes good plays to go wrong. My biggest competitor is myself. As for my opponents, I believe every country is strong, so I will do my best.”
“Before the Asian Games, I need to prepare my body and speed. If my speed drops, it will be a disadvantage in competition. I will use next week’s China Masters as a warm-up event before the Asian Games to evaluate my form and see if I have a chance to win a medal.”
