The result showed that “Ruangkao” Lalana Thararoedi, ranked 99th in the world, was defeated 0-2 in sets by Russia's Ekaterina Alexandrova, ranked 19th, with scores of 5-7 and 5-7, exiting the tournament in round two, much to regret.
This leaves only one remaining Thai female player in the tournament: “Mai” Mananchaya Swangkaew, ranked 164th in the world, who has already advanced to the third round.
