Thai Mens National Volleyball Team Dominates Vietnam 3-0 to Win Group A and Advance to SEA Games 2025 Semifinals

The Thai men's national volleyball team showed sharp form by sweeping Vietnam 3-0 in sets, winning Group A and advancing to the semifinals to face the Philippines.

On 16 December 2025 GMT+7, the men's volleyball competition at the 33rd SEA Games (SEA Games 2025) reached the final group stage match. The Thai men's volleyball team played a decisive Group A match against Vietnam to compete directly for the group championship.

This match was crucial as both teams had won their previous two matches, each holding 6 points. Thailand had beaten Singapore 3-1 and Laos 3-0, while Vietnam showed strong form as well, defeating Laos and Singapore without dropping a set.

The result saw the Thai men's volleyball team defeat Vietnam 3-0 in sets (25-23, 25-19, 25-16) to claim the Group A championship.

In the first set, Vietnam started stronger, but Thailand stayed composed, steadily closing the gap and then accelerating in the final stages to edge out a thrilling 25-23 win.

In the second and third sets, Thailand clearly dominated as Vietnam faltered, especially in attack which lacked precision. The Thai players performed confidently in both offense and defense, closing the sets 25-19 and 25-16 respectively.

With this victory, the Thai men's volleyball team advanced to the semifinals as Group A champions, where they will face the Philippines, the runners-up of Group B, competing for a place in the final.
