Cheering voices lifted spirits as “Toey Anurak” warmly thanked Thai volleyball fans after defeating Vietnam 3-0 at the 2025 SEA Games.
On 17 Dec 2025 GMT+7, “Toey” Anurak Panrum, captain of the Thai men’s volleyball team, shared his thoughts after their effortless 3-0 set win over Vietnam with scores 25-23, 25-19, and 25-16. This victory secured their place in the semifinals of the 33rd SEA Games (2025 SEA Games) as Group A champions, while Vietnam finished second in the group. He sweetly praised the cheering that uplifted their spirits.
Toey Anurak said, “We achieved our goal in this game. Before facing Vietnam, we prepared intensively. It feels great that everyone is motivated and focused on winning this match and the upcoming ones.”
The match flowed very smoothly; it seemed everyone played with enjoyment and less pressure. Having fans cheer us on impressed us greatly.
There are still areas to improve, such as some blocking moments when we couldn’t stop their attacks, minor serve receptions, and occasions where our defense was good but we failed to finish the points. These will be our homework going forward.
One thing that boosts athletes’ morale in the semifinals is hearing the crowd’s cheers, which instantly lifts our spirits and provides positive energy. On 18 Dec 2025 GMT+7, we will compete in the semifinals. We want to succeed in this round to reach the final. We invite all fans to cheer for us a lot. We will give our best and play with enjoyment.”
For the upcoming schedule, the young Thai volleyball players will play the semifinals against the Philippines, runners-up of Group B, on Thursday, 18 December 2025 GMT+7. Meanwhile, Vietnam, finishing second in Group A, will face Indonesia, Group B champions, who are 12-time former champions and three-time consecutive gold medalists.
