Yameen, Thai Mens National Volleyball Player, Points Out Reason for Wanting to Test the 6.9 Million Baht Elbow-Shaped Running Track System (Video)

"Yameen," Thai men's national volleyball player, explains reason for wanting to test the elbow-shaped running track system, a bonus worth 6.9 million baht.

On 8 Jan 2025 GMT+7, a photo of the running track around Padang Besar Municipal Stadium in Sadao District, Songkhla Province, went viral on social media after users noted its unusual elbow-shaped curve, deviating from standard track designs. Many netizens questioned the rationale behind this design. Earlier explanations suggested that space limitations prevented construction of a conventional running track layout.

However, upon reviewing the official construction cost evaluation documents, the track section in question is listed as "a walkway around the field covered with synthetic rubber," with an estimated budget of 6,923,292.30 baht.

Recently, "Yameen" Krisada Nilsawai, a Thai men's national volleyball player specializing as a fast attacker, humorously commented on the matter, saying, "This is the running track I most want to run on, because it might be the only one in the world with an elbow-shaped curve. It looks fun to run on since you have to sharply turn the corner right away."
