Coach Odd outlines the Thai women's volleyball team's plan to train in Japan ahead of their Asian Games medal campaign.
On 30 March 2026, the Volleyball Association of Thailand prepared plans to coordinate with Japan for a training camp before competing in the 2026 Asian Games.
The 2026 schedule includes the Volleyball Nations League (VNL) around June to July, followed by the CV League—first leg in Vietnam, second leg in Chiang Mai, Thailand—then the important 2026 Asian Championship in China, which offers Olympic qualification for the champion, and finally the 2026 Asian Games.
Coach Odd Kiattipong Radchatagriengkai, head coach of the Thai national team, said, “After the Asian Championship, President Somporn Saibangyang and the association's management have arranged for us to train in Japan for about 7 to 10 days. We will finalize the schedule soon, then proceed directly to the Asian Games.”
Somporn Saibangyang, President of the Volleyball Association of Thailand, added, “After Songkran, we will call up players who have competed in the Thailand League, and those from abroad will gradually return. Most should be back by April, exceeding 90%. Some may return in early May because the team is advancing deep into the finals of club competitions in Japan, Korea, and the U.S.”
