Thailand’s national women’s volleyball players “Puey” Atcharaporn Kongyot and “Kai” Wimolrat Tananapan discuss the team’s important mission this year, facing a demanding schedule. They aim to maintain their physical condition at the highest level to defend the Asian championship and secure a ticket to the Olympics.
“Puey” Atcharaporn admits that this year is very important and challenging for the team. The top priority is to keep the players in optimal physical condition, reducing injury risks to ensure the team is fully prepared for every tournament.
She also revealed that the team’s plan will start with the VNL, which is the first event after regrouping following the SEA Games. The team will gradually build form and readiness through each tournament to peak at the Asian championship.
“Kai” Wimolrat shares the same viewpoint, emphasizing that the team must focus on each VNL match to build confidence. This will lead toward the bigger goal at the Asian championship, where Thailand, as the defending champion, must strive to retain the title.
“Puey” further highlighted that the Asian championship will not be easy, as countries like Japan, China, South Korea, and Kazakhstan are all eager to win. This tournament is a crucial opportunity to secure Olympic qualification.
“Winning the championship means an immediate Olympic ticket. It’s in our hands now, so every team will give their all. We cannot be complacent or take it lightly. We have to stay fully focused,” Atcharaporn said.
For the Thai national team, the clear goal is to maintain their standards and continuously improve performance to defend the Asian championship and seize the vital opportunity to compete in the Olympic Games as planned.
