Coach Ott and Pornpun Speak Out After Thailand Womens National Volleyball Teams Loss to Serbia in VNL 2026 Week 1, Match 1

Kiattipong Ratchatkriangkrai and Pornpun Guedpard share their thoughts after the Thailand women's national volleyball team lost to the Serbia women's national volleyball team in Week 1, Match 1 of the VNL 2026.

On 3 Jun 2026 GMT+7, "Coach Ott" Kiattipong Ratchatkriangkrai and "Chompoo" Pornpun Guedpard spoke after the Thailand women's national volleyball team was defeated by the Serbia women's national volleyball team 0-3 in sets, 24-26, 22-25, 19-25, in the FIVB Women's Volleyball Nations League 2026 (VNL 2026) Week 1, Match 1, which had just concluded.

Coach Ott Kiattipong Ratchatkriangkrai said, "First, I want to congratulate the Serbian team. They are strong at the world level. I also want to thank our players, especially the new ones who had the chance to play and performed well. It was unfortunate to lose the first set; some players made mistakes, and we tried to give advice. We still need to improve our blocking and reception, which were not good enough, causing us to miss many opportunities to turn defense into points."

"Overall, everyone performed well, but we have to learn that it wasn't enough to win. Even though we didn’t take any sets, I saw the players’ effort. We must move forward with strength and patience. Tomorrow’s match against China will be tough and challenging. We will see if anyone is injured, but I believe everyone will give their best in the next game."

Meanwhile, Pornpun Guedpard said, "Honestly, I felt a bit disappointed about individual points, not the 0-3 loss. We fought hard for every point. We didn’t use all our tactics, and some situations were a bit difficult. However, all the younger players did well. In the next game against China, we should improve because we now know our weaknesses. Having played China before, their style likely hasn’t changed much. They have strengths in height and quick attacks. The most intimidating is their short ball, like the Great Wall of China, true to their name. But since we’ve played them often, we believe we have ways to break through, though it depends on the situation."

The Thailand women's national volleyball team will next compete in the FIVB Women's Volleyball Nations League 2026 Week 1, Match 2, facing the China women's national volleyball team on 4 June at 18:30 Thai time (GMT+7).
