Atchara Porn Kongyot, a star player of the Thailand women's national volleyball team, opened up after their fifth consecutive loss to Ukraine in the VNL 2026 tournament.
Following the Thailand women's volleyball team's narrow 2-3 defeat to Ukraine (scores: 23-25, 25-19, 26-28, 25-22, 10-15) in the first match of the second leg of the VNL 2026 (FIVB Women's Volleyball Nations League 2026) at Huamark Indoor Stadium, Bangkok.
After the game, “P’Pure” Atchara Porn Kongyot affirmed that the Thai women's volleyball team gave their best effort, but the results were unfavorable, suggesting their effort might still be insufficient.
“I think in terms of our intention, we gave it our all and tried very hard. But I don’t understand why the results never go our way. This is something we can’t find an answer to, or maybe what we are doing isn’t enough. Why is that? We think about it too,” she said.
“However, we cannot lose heart because of this. We must keep going. There are still three more matches remaining in this leg. So, even though we lost today, we have to quickly move past this and prepare to face the next team as soon as possible.”
“For the next match against Bulgaria, we will give it our all. We will start fresh, reset our focus, and try our best. We aim to secure a victory. Please continue to support us,” Atchara Porn said.
The next match for Thailand's women's volleyball team in VNL 2026 will be the second match of the second leg against Bulgaria, ranked 20th in the world, on Thursday, 18 June at 20:30.
