Coach Ot Speaks Frankly After Thai Womens Volleyball Team Defeats Canada at VNL 2026

"Coach Ot" Kiattipong Ratchata-Kriangkrai, head coach of the Thai women's volleyball team, shared his thoughts after their victory over Canada in the VNL 2026 tournament.

Following the Thai women's national volleyball team's 3-1 set win over Canada (25-21, 22-25, 25-18, 25-20) in the second week of the first round of the 2026 Nations League, Group 6, at Huamark Indoor Stadium.

After the match, "Coach Ot" Kiattipong Ratchata-Kriangkrai urged his players to maintain their form because tough challenges lie ahead.

"I want to thank and congratulate all the players on their success. It also reminds everyone that our perseverance must be strong, and we must have faith in ourselves and our teammates. Trust among each other is very important."

"Regarding the gameplay, we learned a lot from Canada because they are a very strong team, not easy at all. As seen, every point we earned from them was hard-fought, almost a matter of life and death. Winning against them shows our effort, adjustments in playing style, and the players we used. We gave some of the younger players a chance to play, building confidence for everyone in this match."

"The positives and achievements we made must be maintained because tomorrow’s game and the ones after will be very tough. There are no easy matches. The Netherlands have advantages over us in every aspect—height, skill, and form. They are tall and powerful hitters, so we must plan carefully."

The next match for Thailand will be against the Netherlands on Sunday, 21 June 2026, at 20:30.
