
Live volleyball update: Thailand women's volleyball team decisively lost to Turkey in the final match of VNL 2026.
On 12 July 2026 GMT+7, during the fourth match of the third round of the 2026 Volleyball Nations League (VNL 2026) held in Osaka, Japan, the Thailand women's national volleyball team, ranked 17th in the world, faced the Turkish national team, ranked 4th.
Thailand's women's volleyball team had just delivered a stunning performance yesterday by defeating Brazil, ranked 2nd worldwide, 3-0 sets. For this game, the starting six players were Pornpun Guedpard (team captain), Ajcharaporn Kongyot, Sasipaporn Chantawisut, Pimpichaya Kokram, Thaddao Nuekjaeng, and Kaewkalaya Kamulthala.
In the first set, Thailand trailed for most of the time but fought back fiercely to tie at 24-24 before overtaking to win 27-25, taking a 1-0 lead.
In the second set, Thailand again fell behind early but nearly caught up. Unfortunately, Turkey edged out a win late at 25-21, leveling the match at 1-1 sets.
The third set saw Turkey maintain aggressive play with no letup, while Thailand struggled to keep up. Turkey won this set 25-19 to lead 2-1.
In the fourth set, Turkey did not allow Thailand to come back, closing the match with a 3-1 victory, set scores 25-27, 25-21, 25-19, and 25-22.
At the conclusion of VNL 2026, the Thailand women's volleyball team recorded 3 wins and 9 losses, accumulating 12 points. Their final standing as 14th place depends on the results of the Dominican Republic vs. Canada and France vs. Czech Republic matches.
