Thailand aims for the 2028 Olympics: Summary of the 2026 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship draw results.
On 28 July 2026, the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) held the draw ceremony for the 2026 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship, scheduled from 21-30 August in Tianjin, People's Republic of China.
The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) has announced that the champion of the 2026 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship will automatically qualify for the 2027 World Championship, the 2028 Olympics, and the 2028 Asian Championship, while the second and third place teams will earn qualification spots for the 2027 World Championship.
Group A: China (host), Chinese Taipei, Iran, Iraq.
Group B: Thailand, Kazakhstan, Indonesia, Australia.
Group C: Japan, Vietnam, South Korea, Hong Kong.
The top two teams from each group plus the two best third-place teams will advance to the knockout quarterfinals, continuing in elimination format through to the final.
Thailand, the defending champion from 2023 and three-time winner, will face strong competition from China, the host and 13-time champion, and Japan, a five-time champion; these three teams are expected to contend fiercely for the title and the 2028 Olympic qualification.
