"Nuknik" shares her thoughts on three aspects after being named captain of the Thailand women's volleyball team for SEA V Cup 2026.
On 29 July 2026, in the morning at Don Mueang International Airport, the Thailand women's national volleyball team departed for Hanoi, Vietnam, to compete in the 6th SEA V Cup 2026 first leg, flying with Thai AirAsia flight FD 640 at 9:55 a.m.
Lieutenant Supot Chaibanyong, Deputy Secretary-General of the Volleyball Association of Thailand, saw off the team and offered encouragement to the national athletes.
The team is led by "Nuknik" Natthananicha Jaisan, the setter and newly appointed captain for this tournament, along with "Pew" Atcharaporn Kongyot, "Aomsin" Sasipaporn Jandavisut, "Kai" Wimonrat Thanapan, "Fern" Warisara Sritaler, and rising stars including Sarah Ankomah, "Yok" Nannaphat Muljakham, and "Omsup" Papatchaya Phontham.
Nuknik Natthananicha Jaisan spoke about her first time serving as captain, saying she aims to bring out the best in her teammates to secure victory in every match and expressed gratitude to Coach Odd for trusting her with the captaincy.
"I feel happy that the coach entrusted me with this responsibility. I'm glad he sees my potential to be captain for this event. I've prepared myself both physically and mentally, and everyone has trained well. I feel that everyone is confident going into this competition."
"I'm glad we have young players this time, giving them a chance to showcase their abilities. I want them to bring out their full potential in this tournament. We've been training continuously, and I just tell them to have fun, play their best, and demonstrate their skills as much as possible."
"I want the younger players to enjoy playing, as some may be competing in their first matches. I don't want them to feel pressured, stressed, or have excessive expectations of themselves. I want them to enjoy the game to the fullest."
"Every team competing has their own quality and all want to win the championship. We must not underestimate any team, especially ourselves. We have to maintain our best standards."
The 6th SEA V Cup 2026 first leg in Hanoi, Vietnam, runs from 31 July to 2 August 2026, featuring four teams: host Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Thailand. The tournament uses a round-robin format to determine the champion by the highest total points.
