Serah Ankomah opens up candidly after the Thailand women's volleyball team defeated the Philippines in the CV Cup 2026.
Very positive mindset! Serah still does not rate her own performance after Thailand's win over the Philippines, noting she has much to improve.
Following Thailand's 3-2 victory over the Philippines with set scores of 25-17, 19-25, 25-15, 18-25, 15-10 in the SEA V Cup 2026 second leg, held in Hanoi, Vietnam,
After the match, Serah Ankomah said, “I came in when the score was already somewhat apart, but I think it was a very valuable experience to get playing time.”
“It wasn’t really pressure, but I did make one communication mistake. The noise from the crowd was very loud, I believe it was in the second set when I made a passing error.”
“I don’t give myself a score yet because I haven’t really contributed much. I just came on to give my teammates a break and let them discuss tactics.”
“For me, everything needs work — serving, blocking, defense, and ball reception all require a lot of improvement.”
“I want to thank everyone who supports me and the Thai national team. Please continue cheering for us a lot.”
Thailand's next match will be against Vietnam, a decisive game for the championship, on Sunday, 2 Aug 2026 at 19:00.
