Good news for the Thai women's volleyball team as they anticipate another positive announcement before competing in SEA V CUP 2026 Leg 2 in Chiang Mai.
Last night (6 August 2026), a welcoming reception was held for the women's volleyball teams from four ASEAN countries at the Orchid Ballroom, Chiang Mai Orchid Hotel. The event was chaired by Chiang Mai Governor Ratthapon Naradisorn, alongside Mr. Pichai Lertpongadisorn, president of the Chiang Mai Provincial Administrative Organization, and Mr. Somporn Chaibangyang, president of the Volleyball Association of Thailand, ahead of the BYD DMI 6th SEA V CUP 2026 opening today (7 August 2026).
The president of the Chiang Mai Provincial Administrative Organization announced good news for the competing teams by awarding a 500,000 baht bonus to the champion team of Leg 2, while the Thai women's volleyball team aims to defend their home title after winning Leg 1 in Vietnam.
The BYD DMI 6th SEA V CUP 2026 features four ASEAN women's volleyball teams: the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, and host Thailand. The competition runs from 7-9 August 2026 at Gymnasium 1, Chiang Mai 700th Anniversary Stadium.
