On their first day in China, Coach Ott reveals the latest updates on the Thailand women's volleyball team ahead of the Asian Championship.
On 18 August 2026, the Thailand women's national volleyball team held their first training session at Tianjin Sports Training Campus after arriving in the People's Republic of China to prepare for the 2026 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship, running from 21 to 30 August 2026.
The Thailand women's volleyball team was warmly welcomed by the hosts. Head coach Ott Kiattipong Ratchatawornkrair stated that all players are in good physical and mental condition, ready to compete for the 2028 Olympic ticket, which the champion of the 2026 Asian Championship will earn automatically.
Coach Ott Kiattipong Ratchatawornkrair shared the latest update on the Thailand women's volleyball team in China: "We have safely arrived in Tianjin. We traveled all day yesterday and received a warm welcome."
"The venue is new and beautiful, with 12 courts. They have prepared two courts fully for our use. Accommodation and food at the hotel are arranged by the school and the organizing committee, coordinated through the Tianjin side by the association."
"Training is going well. Accommodation and meals are quite good. Today was our first practice session, focusing on physical conditioning, speed, agility, and ball control. We also practiced basic skills such as serving and receiving. The session lasted about two hours."
"This evening at 16:00, we'll work on team systems. We may also find time to take the athletes to rest. Tomorrow, we plan to visit a sacred site, a temple here that has existed for over a thousand years. We might take the players to pray and do some group activities. This evening we may visit a peach garden on the way, which should take about 30 minutes."
