On 28 August 2026, Nan Thaddao Nuekjang, a key fast attacker for the Thai women's national volleyball team, shared her latest readiness after beating South Korea 3-0 in sets 25-20, 25-18, and 25-21 to advance to the semifinals of the 2026 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship held in Tianjin, People's Republic of China.
Before yesterday's game, Nan Thaddao Nuekjang was troubled by an injury sustained during the group stage, which kept her from playing in the final Group B match when Thailand defeated Kazakhstan 3-1 on Tuesday, 25 August.
In the end, Nan Thaddao Nuekjang recovered and started as one of the six players in the quarterfinal match, helping the Thai women's volleyball team defeat South Korea and advance to face top-ranked Japan in the semifinals.
Nan Thaddao spoke about her return to the court after recovering in time, saying, "I'm happy to be able to help the team to some extent because Coach Ott (Kiatpong Ratchatkriangkrai) wanted me to be there to support the younger players and give them confidence."
"But I have to be careful with my condition and not push myself too hard. Whenever there's a risk of injury, I try to avoid it. I play only as much as I can. It feels good to be back on the court after about three days of rest. I'm feeling better. We will rest one more day, and I expect to be even better for the semifinals."
Thaddao Nuekjang sent a message to Thai women's volleyball fans ahead of the semifinal against Japan, which is a crucial step toward qualifying for the 2028 Olympics, as only the champion of this tournament will secure a spot.
"Now that we've made it to the final four, I want to ask all the fans to cheer and support us. We are aiming to win the championship."
