"Pornpun" Fully Committed: Reveals 3 Reasons Thai Women's Volleyball Beat Japan to Reach 2026 Asian Championship Final,
On 29 August 2026, Chompoo Pornpun Kidapradit, setter and captain of the Thai women's volleyball team, gave an interview after defeating Japan 3-1 sets (25-21, 25-20, 20-25, 25-20) in the 2026 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship semifinal in Tianjin, People's Republic of China.
This victory allowed the Thai women's volleyball team to advance to the 2026 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship final to face host China, competing for the championship title and a ticket to the 2028 Olympics, scheduled for Sunday, 30 August at 17:45 Thai time.
Chompoo Pornpun Kidapradit revealed the three key reasons why the Thai women's volleyball team defeated Japan as follows:
- Chompoo Pornpun said, "Thank you very much. Honestly, I saw everyone's joy mixed with tension. I had already envisioned the outcome but didn't tell anyone. I truly believed we could beat Japan."
- Chompoo Pornpun said, "I wondered why I wasn’t playing more cunningly. At the end of the 3rd set and the start of the 4th, with scores close, I felt something was missing."
"I thought, 'Hey, I need to be more cunning.' Then I spoke with P'Ara, who said, 'I want that; you need to be even more cunning.' So I just played that way (making difficult plays unexpected by many)."
- Chompoo Pornpun said, "Thank you very much for supporting us. They are amazing too. We really have to thank them more for always cheering us on. We draw a lot of strength from them. Without them, we wouldn’t be playing like this today."
"(The key factor in today's win) was just that set alone. Once confidence came, everything else followed. We could play anything, really."
