Shin Yoshida has made his decision after helping Thailand's women's volleyball team win the Asian Championship and qualify for the Olympics for the first time.
On 4 September 2026, Shin Yoshida, the Japanese staff coach of Thailand's women's national volleyball team that won the 2026 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship in China and secured the country's first Olympic ticket for 2028, posted a message on his personal social media to Thai volleyball fans.
Coach Shin did not travel with the Thai women's volleyball team to their training camp in Japan from 4-13 September 2026 before the 2026 Asian Games, which take place from 16-22 September in Nagoya.
Recently, Shin Yoshida posted a heartfelt message about Thai volleyball on his personal Instagram account shin_yoshida22 in Thai, saying:
To everyone involved in Thai volleyball and all Thai volleyball fans,
Thank you sincerely for always warmly welcoming me, a foreigner.
For me, Thailand has become like a second home.
Every time I return to Thailand after competing abroad, I always feel that
"I am home."
From now on, I will travel to Italy
to develop myself both as a person and as a volleyball coach.
I will never forget all the experiences and warmth I received from Thailand.
I hope to meet everyone again.

Shin Yoshida's new role is as assistant coach for the Busto Arsizio club in Italy's Serie A league, which includes three Japanese female volleyball players: Nanami Seki, Yukiko Wada, and Miku Akimoto.
