"Anurak" shares one wish after the Thai men's volleyball team defeated Chinese Taipei to win Group C at the Asian Championship.
On 9 September 2026, Toey Anurak Panram, the Thai men's national volleyball team's setter, gave an interview after the final group stage match of the 2026 Asian Men's Volleyball Championship. Thailand narrowly beat Chinese Taipei 3-2 sets, with scores of 25-23, 22-25, 23-25, 25-22, 15-10.
This victory means the Thai men's volleyball team, coached by South Korean Park Ki Won, won all three group matches, earning 7 points and advancing to the quarterfinals as Group C champions. The quarterfinals will be held from 10 to 11 September.
Toey Anurak Panram commented on the Thai men's volleyball team’s win and explained why the performance was not as good as expected: "The atmosphere at the start was not very good. We seemed to start well, but as the game went on, our timing was off. Everyone was trying too hard, and when things didn’t go well, it made us feel frustrated. That made today’s game look difficult and tense."
However, Toey Anurak Panram emphasized that the Thai men's volleyball team needs encouragement from Thai volleyball fans to create new history, recalling their best previous result of fifth place in the Asian Championship when Thailand hosted in 2005.
Toey Anurak said, "We are already first in our group. For the next round, we don’t know who we will face, but one thing is certain: we will play the volleyball we have practiced. Whatever we have trained for, we will play accordingly."
