Coach Ot Decides After Seeing Thailand Womens Volleyball Schedule for 2026 Asian Games Quarterfinals

"Coach Ot" has made his decision after learning the schedule for Thailand women's volleyball at the 2026 Asian Games quarterfinals.

On 18 September 2026, Coach Ot Kiattipong Radchatagriengkai, head coach of the Thailand women's national volleyball team, gave an interview after the final Group C preliminary match at the 2026 Asian Games held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.

The Thailand women's volleyball team defeated Chinese Taipei 3-0 sets, with scores of 25-22, 25-22, 25-20, securing the top spot in Group C by earning a full 9 points without dropping a set in the preliminary round, thus advancing to the quarterfinals of the 2026 Asian Games women's volleyball as planned.

Coach Ot commented on the win against Chinese Taipei: "This victory means a lot to all of us. We have gradually built each player's confidence. We must also commend the Taiwan team; they played very well with continual player development and a solid playing system."

"It was a quality match—three sets that were not easy. We had to maximize the potential of each position. I want to praise the athletes again. Today, Chompoo, as captain, controlled the game well. The ball distribution followed the plan we had laid out."

Regarding team preparation after advancing to the quarterfinals and aiming for Thailand women's volleyball's first Asian Games gold, Coach Ot revealed, "Today’s game will help us see what we succeeded in and what areas still need improvement."

"The quarterfinals will definitely be tough, whether we face Indonesia or others in later rounds. We plan to take it one game at a time."

"Tomorrow, the host does not provide a practice court for us. We do have a practice session scheduled late in the morning, but since travel is long, we plan to have the athletes focus on physical recovery at the hotel. The medical, physical therapy teams, and Thai House staff will assist with recovery tomorrow. Therefore, we will cancel on-court practice."

"However, some younger athletes will do gym workouts in the morning, and we will plan for the upcoming quarterfinal match. Since our game is early at 10 AM local time (08:00 AM Thailand time), we may need to leave as early as 7:30 AM, so rest is very important tomorrow."

The 2026 Asian Games women's volleyball quarterfinal match: Thailand versus Indonesia will be held on Sunday, 20 September 2026, at 08:00 AM Thailand time, broadcast live on PPTV HD 36 and the AIS PLAY app.
