Mr. Thepsu Bawornchotidara, Deputy Secretary-General of AMLO, stated that coordination with the Royal Thai Police revealed the case began with a mule bank account belonging to Ms. Tangthai, who was authorized to operate it. Between 2017 and 2022, this account received transfers totaling about 15 billion baht derived from offenses by Mr. Jim Liak, his wife, and the group of Mr. Ben Smith.

Further investigation uncovered that this group established front companies to launder money obtained from various scam operations, using it to purchase assets. Consequently, AMLO resolved to seize such assets, including land, condominiums, company shares, bank accounts, three cars, and a boat. Currently, the total value of these assets is about 10 billion baht.

During the press conference, when asked about shares related to the network, Mr. Thepsu Bawornchotidara said multiple shares are involved, but the largest frozen assets are shares of Bangchak Corporation. These shares are separate but were frozen after investigation confirmed they were linked to illegal activities. There is a timeframe for this process; if it can be proven the assets are not connected to crimes, transactions may be revoked. The share value is approximately 6 billion baht (28 Nov 2025 GMT+7), though the value may have since changed.
