
Pol. Gen. Kowit Wattana, former national police chief, passed away peacefully at the age of 78 at the Police General Hospital. His funeral rites are being held at Wat Phra Sri Mahathat Bang Khen, with the water-pouring ceremony today.
On 15 December 2025, Dr. Wantanee Wattana, former Permanent Secretary of Bangkok, and wife of Pol. Gen. Kowit Wattana, posted on her page “Wantanee Wattana” saying: “Farewell in this life. In this lifetime, Father Wit’s honor, rank, dignity, and goodness will always remain in our hearts.”
Pol. Gen. Kowit Wattana was born on 11 March 1947. He was a Thai police officer and politician, serving as former Deputy Prime Minister, former Minister of Interior, former National Police Chief, and former special royal guard officer. He passed away peacefully at age 78 at the Police General Hospital.
