Urgent: Police Major General Thanananvich Sribunruang, Commander of Uthai Thani Provincial Police, tragically took his own life inside a car. He had only been in the position for about two months. Relevant authorities are investigating the true cause.
At 08:32 on 15 Dec 2025, Sub-Lieutenant Thanakrit Waenkaew, investigating officer of Mueang Nakhon Sawan Police Station, was informed of a self-harm incident at a residence in Moo 14, Wat Sai Subdistrict, Mueang District, Nakhon Sawan Province. He reported the incident to his superiors, and the on-call doctor from Sawankhalok Pracharak Hospital and rescue personnel from Chao Pho Guan Yu Foundation – Nakhon Sawan Rescue were dispatched.
They proceeded to the scene.
At the scene, Police Major General Thanananvich Sribunruang, aged 59, Commander of Uthai Thani Provincial Police, was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound from his service pistol. He was seated inside a sedan bearing license plate Khok 2541 Nakhon Sawan, parked at his residence, shot at the driver's side seat. The cause remains unclear; police are interviewing witnesses and close associates to determine the true cause.
Police Major General Thanananvich Sribunruang had just taken office as Commander of Uthai Thani Provincial Police on 1 Oct 2025.
