On 15 Dec 2025 at 15:30 GMT+7, General Kittirat Phanphet, the National Police Chief, presided over the water-pouring funeral ceremony of General Kowit Watthana, former Deputy Prime Minister, former Minister of Interior, and former National Police Chief. Present were Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul; former National Police Chiefs Generals Pornsak Durongwiboon, Adul Sangsingkeo, Wichian Photphosri, Chakthip Chaijinda, and Somyot Poompanmoung; Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt; police officers, former officers, family, and friends totaling over 1,000 attendees. The atmosphere was filled with deep mourning.

The Prime Minister and National Police Chief offered words of encouragement to Dr. Wantanee Watthana, former Permanent Secretary of Bangkok, wife of the deceased, and to the Watthana family.

General Kittirat said General Kowit was a model police officer known for sacrifice, honesty, and integrity. He was a border patrol officer devoted to protecting the nation. Throughout his career, he served the country and the Royal Thai Police with great merit, earning recognition as a model officer and commander.

At 17:30 GMT+7, former National Police Chief and former Minister of Social Development and Human Security General Adul Sangsingkeo presided over the royal water-pouring funeral ceremony, followed by a Buddhist memorial service and chanting of the Abhidhamma.
