Jiratt Thongsuwan Granted Bail in Forged Certificate Case, Vows to Appeal

Jiratt Thongsuwan was granted bail in the forged certificate case, with bail set at 100,000 baht and no conditions imposed. He declared his intent to appeal and continue fighting the case.

On 16 Dec 2025 GMT+7, reports stated that Jiratt, also known as Navarin Thongsuwan, former MP for Chachoengsao from the People's Party, was sentenced to two years in prison for forging the certificate. He submitted a bail request with security, accompanied by two party-list MPs from the People's Party, Wiroj Lakkhanaadisorn and Benja Saengchan, who came to support him.

Later that afternoon, the Criminal Court reviewed the case and ordered Jiratt's release on bail during the appeal process, setting bail at 100,000 baht without any conditions.

After being granted bail, Jiratt said he would proceed to file an appeal against the lower court's verdict. He expressed disappointment over the two-year prison sentence but emphasized that the case is not yet over. He noted that several issues were not addressed in the initial ruling and will be raised in the appeal.
