A female truck driver crashed into utility poles alongside the road, causing multiple poles to fall and creating a traffic jam stretching several kilometers. It took more than three hours before the route was reopened to normal traffic.
At 16:00 on 17 Dec 2025, the Samut Prakan Emergency Dispatch Center received a report of a truck accident that knocked down several utility poles blocking the road and causing injuries. The incident occurred inside Soi Wat Bua Roi, in front of Major Thai Industry factory, Village 4, Bang Sao Thong Subdistrict, Bang Sao Thong District, Samut Prakan Province. The center coordinated with Poh Teck Tung Foundation rescue volunteers who arrived to inspect and assist, accompanied by electricity officials.
Upon inspection at the scene, the injured person was identified as Ms. Nataya, 27, who suffered cuts on her left leg from glass shards. Rescue personnel provided initial first aid before transporting her to Chularat 5 Hospital. The damaged vehicle was a white six-wheel Isuzu box truck, license plate 700-5477 Bangkok, parked by the roadside in a heavily damaged condition. Additionally, three government-owned utility poles were found broken and scattered across the road, blocking traffic and causing a multi-kilometer traffic jam.
Electricity officials promptly cut the power supply due to concerns that passing motorcyclists might risk electric shock. They quickly mobilized to clear the area, removing the fallen utility poles from the road to reopen traffic to normal flow.
A nearby fruit juice vendor said that at the time of the accident, he was resting in his shop when he heard the crash and looked up to see utility poles toppled onto the road. He noticed the truck driver was a woman driving alone. After the collision, the injured woman remained in the truck for a while before getting out. The person who called emergency services was likely a local resident who witnessed the incident.
Meanwhile, police from Bang Sao Thong Station arrived to investigate the scene and took photographs as evidence. The driver will be questioned again after recovery to determine the cause of the accident and proceed with legal actions, as government property was damaged.
