
Police, together with partner agencies, organized the community enterprise initiative "Building Knowledge, Creating Jobs, Building Careers, Generating Income for the Community" to comprehensively address drug problems in accordance with the national strategy and policy.
On 19 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Pol. Col. Theerachai Dedkhad, Deputy Commander of Metropolitan Police Division 9, presided over the opening ceremony. Attendees included Dr. Oraphan Sinprasong, Chairperson of the Nong Khaem District Cultural Council; Mrs. Maneewan Srisawat, Director of Nong Khaem District; Mr. Surasak Wongsinchai, Chair of the Community Enterprise Learning Center at Wirat Farm Nong Khaem; Pol. Col. Sommai Sopacharoen, Superintendent of Nong Khang Phlu Police Station; Pol. Lt. Col. Nattawat Dilokpipatchai, Deputy Superintendent of Nong Khang Phlu Police Station; Mr. Wirat Buakli, Vice Chair of the Community Enterprise Learning Center at Wirat Farm Nong Khaem; Mr. Pichai Boonchuay, Director of Student Affairs at Thonburi University and member of the Police Advisory Board; Mr. Jaree Srikadkao, Vice Chair of the Police Advisory Board at Nong Khang Phlu Police Station; Mr. Surat Rattanasriwekhin, Police Advisory Board member; alongside officials and related agencies. They jointly participated in the "Opening Ceremony of the Community Enterprise Learning Center at Wirat Farm Nong Khaem," aiming to build lives, careers, and incomes to resist drug threats and promote sustainable community living. The program focuses on income generation, self-reliance, expense reduction, and community problem-solving, preparing to restore sustainability to drug rehabilitation patients in the community by fostering sustainable occupations with active involvement from both patients and residents to strengthen long-term drug problem solutions. The event took place at the Community Enterprise Learning Center at Wirat Farm Nong Khaem, Village 4, Soi Phetkasem 110, Nong Khang Phlu Subdistrict, Nong Khaem District, Bangkok.
Pol. Col. Theerachai Dedkhad, Deputy Commander of Metropolitan Police Division 9, stated that the division, together with the Community Enterprise Learning Center at Wirat Farm Nong Khaem, organized the "Opening the World of Community Enterprise: Building Knowledge, Creating Jobs, Building Careers, Generating Income for the Community" initiative to combat drug threats and promote sustainable community living. This aligns with the national strategy and the integrated plan for prevention, suppression, and resolution of drug problems. The objective is to develop and promote community careers and provide opportunities for those interested in the community enterprise group at Wirat Farm Nong Khaem to learn and study the work. Additionally, the initiative aims to generate income, foster self-reliance, reduce community expenses, and prepare to restore sustainability for drug rehabilitation patients by encouraging their and the community's participation to achieve strong, sustainable solutions to drug issues.
The event invited Dr. Oraphan Sinprasong, Chairperson of the Nong Khaem District Cultural Council; Mrs. Maneewan Srisawat, Director of Nong Khaem District; and Mr. Surasak Wongsinchai, Chair of the Community Enterprise Learning Center at Wirat Farm Nong Khaem, along with community leaders participating in the 2026 Sustainable Community Project to comprehensively address drug problems under the national strategy within the jurisdiction of Metropolitan Police Division 9. Community residents also took part in strengthening sustainable solutions to drug problems. Activities included stations for organic sprout cultivation, mushroom cultivation and processing, earthworm farming with compost and fermented liquid production, organic salted egg preparation, organic and hydroponic vegetable gardening, soil development for planting, basket weaving from plastic strands, traditional Thai dessert-making, orchid house and processing, massage and acupressure, and coffee brewing.
Pol. Col. Theerachai, who oversees drug-related operations, added that under the leadership of Pol. Maj. Gen. Samart Promchat, Commander of Metropolitan Police Division 9, and himself, continuous comprehensive drug problem solutions have been implemented. Since the start of fiscal year 2026, from 1 October 2025 to 18 December 2025, the division has carried out active drug suppression measures as follows.
There were 152 drug-related cases arrested, including 129 serious offenses (possession and above). Confiscated drug evidence included 27,374 methamphetamine tablets, 139.49 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine (ice), 11.01 kilograms of heroin, and 7.28 kilograms of ketamine. Investigations led to six arrest warrants on conspiracy and support charges. Two money laundering cases were prosecuted. Related assets valued at a total of 230,700 baht were seized in connection with drug crimes.
The Metropolitan Police Division 9 also publicized channels for reporting drug-related information. Tips can be submitted via the National Police Hotline at 191 and the Office of the Narcotics Control Board Hotline at 1386.
