On the morning of 22 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Pol. Maj. Gen. Pornchai Khajornklin, deputy commander of Region 8 Police, arrived from Region 8 Police Headquarters to assume the role of acting commander of Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Police following the order from the Royal Thai Police Commissioner-General. Upon arrival, deputy commanders and officers of Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Police welcomed him. Pol. Maj. Gen. Pornchai also paid respects at the city pillar shrine and the statue of Pol. Maj. Gen. Khun Pantharak Rajadej in front of the provincial police headquarters for good fortune before officially taking up his position. He has not yet given any interviews to the press.
Local sources revealed that Pol. Maj. Gen. Kriangsak Nunklieng, who was abruptly removed, had only served as commander of Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Police for nearly three months. Previously, he was deputy commander in Krabi province, then transferred to be deputy commander in Nakhon Si Thammarat for several years before his appointment as commander in October 2025.
Shortly after assuming command, Pol. Maj. Gen. Kriangsak carried out several personnel transfers within the Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Police, which caused dissatisfaction among some subordinate officers who felt the moves were unfair. However, none voiced complaints openly until Pol. Maj. Gen. Kriangsak was suddenly removed following the viral voice clip incident. Many officers in Nakhon Si Thammarat, who had long felt frustrated, expressed joy and actively criticized the situation in various group chats.
However, another group of police officers continue to believe in Pol. Maj. Gen. Kriangsak's innocence, thinking he was targeted by certain subordinates. They have called for fairness to be extended to him, according to sources.
