Woman Recalls Moment Boyfriend Was Shot Dead in Car Police Urgently Pursue Suspected Luxury Van Driver

A woman recounted the moment her boyfriend was shot dead inside a car after the Sri Rat Expressway toll booth at Prachachuen checkpoint, while police are urgently pursuing the driver. 'Luxury van' is suspected.

At 04:50 on 23 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Police Lieutenant Colonel Noppadol Homsombat, deputy investigator of Prachachuen Police Station, received a report of a man shot dead inside a car near the Sri Rat Expressway toll booth at Prachachuen checkpoint, inbound side, Wong Sawang Subdistrict, Bang Sue District, Bangkok. He and patrol and investigation teams from Prachachuen Police, forensic officers, medical examiners from Police Hospital, and Poh Teck Tung Foundation rushed to the scene.

At the scene, approximately 200 meters from the toll booth near the pedestrian bridge over Prachachuen Road, they found a white Toyota Altis with license plate กฉ 9303 from Sa Kaeo province stopped in the middle of the road. Inside was one deceased male, identified as Anuwat Yatiniyom, 34, with a gunshot wound penetrating his neck, seated in the driver's seat in a pool of blood. Officials recorded evidence and secured the area.

Interviewing Ms. Sawitree, 28, the victim's girlfriend, she said before the incident, her boyfriend drove to pick her up from her room to go to their home in the Phetkasem area via the expressway. At the Prachachuen toll booth, a white luxury car came alongside on the left and suddenly tried to change lanes to enter the toll. She told her boyfriend to slow down to let the luxury car pass first.

After passing the toll, she saw the luxury car slow down. Her boyfriend was driving onto the bridge when suddenly the luxury van came up alongside on the right side, lowered its left window, and fired 3-4 shots at her boyfriend. The suspect then sped away heading toward Mo Chit.

Preliminary review of CCTV footage identified a white Alphard luxury van suspected to be involved. Police are currently tracking the vehicle for questioning to determine the cause before proceeding with legal action.
