
Deputy Commander of Provincial Police Region 8 has dismantled the "Expansion Team" and "Commander Krieng's Task Force," ordering the cancellation of 11 units at once. The investigative team, including "Joe," has been sent back to their original police stations for duty. Additionally, the "Chawang Police Chief" and "Udomsak," a 53rd Cadet officer, have been summoned for questioning regarding their roles as "frontline officers" to report facts to the Provincial Police Region 8 Commander. Most recently, the National Anti-Corruption Commission Region 8 has moved to conduct on-site investigations.
This became a hot social media topic after an audio clip of a telephone conversation surfaced, featuring a provincial police commander named "Commander Krieng" reprimanding subordinate officers from Chawang Police Station about unresolved issues concerning extortion activities in the area. Subsequently, Police General Kittirat Phanphet, the National Police Chief, signed an order transferring Police Major General Kriengsak Nunkliang, Commander of Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Police, to assist the National Police Operations Center, suspending him from his original position. Police Major General Pornchai Khajornklin, Deputy Commander of Provincial Police Region 8, was appointed acting commander of Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Police starting 21 Dec 2025, as previously reported.
The latest development on 23 Dec 2025 revealed deeper progress when Police Major General Pornchai Khajornklin, Deputy Commander of Provincial Police Region 8 and acting commander of Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Police, ordered a review of the "Expansion Teams" that were under the command of Police Major General Kriengsak Nunkliang. There were 11 such teams tasked with investigative follow-ups on various cases according to official orders.
Police Major General Pornchai Khajornklin ordered the disbandment of all 11 teams, instructing them to resume their original duties at their usual locations. Furthermore, he canceled the secondment order for the police officer referred to as "Joe" in the audio clip, directing him to return to his regular posting as well.
At the same time, the Chawang Police Chief and the individual named "Udomsak," who functioned as the "frontline officer" in the audio clip, were summoned to the Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Police Headquarters. Additionally, two investigators from Mueang Nakhon Si Thammarat Police Station were called in for questioning to report the facts to Police Lieutenant General Sittichai Lokanpai, Commander of Provincial Police Region 8, following the National Police Chief's order to take action against police officers involved in the Nakhon Si Thammarat area.
Regarding the investigation process, senior officers from the Inspector General's Office have expedited their field inquiries. Meanwhile, officials from the National Anti-Corruption Commission Region 8 have also begun summoning involved police officers for questioning.
