The fatal shooting case on the Si Rat Expressway after Prachachuen Toll Plaza is moving forward with police collecting evidence and preparing to request the court to issue an arrest warrant for intentional homicide. Recently, the Toyota Vellfire used in the crime was found abandoned at a hotel in Nakhon Pathom Province. Meanwhile, police have not dismissed any motives, although witnesses indicated the dispute arose from road anger during driving, and the suspect previously had an arrest warrant for attempted murder in 2024.
At 15:30 on 23 Dec 2025 GMT+7 at Prachachuen Police Station, Pol. Lt. Gen. Nopasit Poolsawat, Chief of the Office of the Royal Thai Police Commander and acting deputy commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, arrived to follow up on the expressway shooting case. When reporters asked if he came to hold a meeting to expedite the case or to prepare an arrest warrant, Pol. Lt. Gen. Nopasit declined to answer and requested to attend the meeting first.
After nearly three hours of meetings, Pol. Lt. Gen. Nopasit left immediately.
At 18:30, Pol. Maj. Gen. Kiattikul Sonthianon, Commander of Metropolitan Police Division 2, revealed that the investigation and manhunt for the suspect are ongoing. Witnesses connected to the suspect before the incident have been summoned for questioning, and authorities are gathering evidence to request the court to issue an arrest warrant on charges of intentional homicide.
The latest update is that the vehicle used in the crime has been found, abandoned at a hotel in Nakhon Pathom. Police are in the process of bringing the car to the station and coordinating with forensic officers to examine and collect related evidence.
Pol. Maj. Gen. Kiattikul added that authorities have not ruled out any motives. This morning, when he inspected the crime scene and questioned witnesses, it was found that there was dissatisfaction while driving, but other possibilities remain under consideration. Initially, there is no known prior connection between the suspect and the victim.
Preliminary witness statements indicate that the suspect and four friends had arranged a gathering in Nonthaburi Province. After the suspect drove the friends home, the incident occurred while driving back. They met near the toll plaza, where the Toyota Vellfire suddenly changed lanes, attempting to shift to the right lane while another vehicle was driving straight, forcing a swerve to the left, appearing to cut each other off. When stopping at nearby toll booths to pay, they rolled down their windows and looked at each other before the incident happened.
Pol. Maj. Gen. Kiattikul further stated that police are actively pursuing the suspect’s arrest. The arrest warrant is being prepared with collected evidence. The suspect previously had an arrest warrant for attempted murder in 2024 in Chonburi Province.
