Police are urgently searching for a "male suspect" who brazenly fired a gun at villagers, injuring three people. He then forcibly took one injured woman into a pickup truck and fled before abandoning her at a health station about 12 kilometers from the scene.
At 08:40 on 24 Dec 2025 GMT+7, a suspect drove a bronze-gold Toyota Vigo pickup truck with license plate number BPO 8404, unknown province code, and parked in front of a house in Kaeng Raberd Village, Wang Krasae Subdistrict, Sai Yok District, Kanchanaburi Province.
People in the house recorded the incident on video while the man driving the pickup argued violently with the homeowner. He then walked back to retrieve a gun from the vehicle and fired one shot at a woman standing and arguing outside the house. This caused those inside, including the person filming, to scream in shock and run inside. Then six consecutive gunshots were heard before the video cut off.
The suspect is believed to be Phra Det, a former monk who removed his robes and changed his clothes to resemble a civilian. After the shooting, he forcibly took the injured woman into his vehicle and fled in an unknown direction. Inside the house, two others were injured: the first is the mother of the woman taken, and the second is the woman's son.
Later, Kanchanaburi Rescue Foundation personnel took the injured to Sai Yok Hospital for urgent medical treatment. It was then found that the suspect had abandoned the abducted woman at Nong Pla Health Station, Village 2, Wang Krasae Subdistrict, Sai Yok District, about 12 kilometers from the scene, before fleeing in an unknown direction. The woman was also taken to Sai Yok Hospital for treatment.
Currently, Police Major General Phasavee Ruangphu, Commander of Kanchanaburi Provincial Police, has ordered Police Colonel Mana Samranwong, Chief of the Kanchanaburi Provincial Police Investigation Unit, and Police Lieutenant Colonel Warasak Prasertsuk, investigator, together with Kanchanaburi police detectives, Sai Yok Police Chief Police Colonel Nattawut Kantayas, and Deputy Chief of Investigation Police Lieutenant Colonel Poramet Ngamlerd, to investigate and resolve the case.
