Images reveal "Kan Vellfire," the gunman in a sedan, fleeing by taxi. He claimed he had just been released from prison and hired the taxi to go to a shopping mall in Rayong. Before reaching the mall, he changed course to under the motorway bridge, got into a Yaris car, picked up his two sons, and rented a vehicle to escape toward Trat Province.
At 12:00 PM on 24 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Police Lieutenant Colonel Nopadol Homsombat, Deputy Inspector (Investigation) of Prachachuen Police Station, requested an arrest warrant for Mr. Songkran Panphu, also known as "Kan Vellfire," aged 37, at the Criminal Court. The court approved arrest warrant no. 7494/2568 dated 24 Dec 2025 for charges including intentional murder, attempted murder, illegal possession of firearms and ammunition without authorization, carrying firearms in public without a permit, and unlawful use of explosives in a community.
Reporters noted that after Mr. Songkran parked the Vellfire van used in the shooting incident involving a Bolt delivery man at a hotel in Nakhon Pathom Province, he took several taxis. He then boarded a Toyota taxi registered in Bangkok, stating his intention to go to a mall in Rayong Province. They agreed on a fixed fare of 2,500 baht without negotiation, which raised the driver's suspicion. Mr. Songkran claimed he had just been released from prison and initially had no cash, not even for tolls, offering to pay by scanning a QR code or stopping at a convenience store to withdraw money. This made the driver fear nonpayment, so he secretly photographed the passenger while he was asleep.
Upon arriving in Rayong, instead of being dropped at the mall as stated, Mr. Songkran instructed the driver to stop under the motorway bridge in Ban Bueng area. There, a male friend arrived alone in a bronze Toyota Yaris and paid the 2,500 baht fare in cash. Mr. Songkran then proceeded to his wife Ms. Kanokrat's home to pick up his two sons and wife, after which they rented a white Toyota Fortuner and fled heading toward Trat Province. The investigation unit of the Metropolitan Police Bureau is closely pursuing the case.
