
The Metropolitan Police Bureau is asking the public to provide tips on a suspect who fired at Tha Ruea police officers, injuring one officer and causing two bystanders to be wounded by stray bullets.
The incident involved a suspect shooting at Tha Ruea police officers during an arrest attempt based on a warrant, in an effort to escape. This resulted in one police officer being injured and two bystanders wounded by stray bullets on 24 Dec 2025 at 20:00 GMT+7.
The suspect has been identified as Mr. Burin Kaewobchoey, 46, wanted under the South Bangkok Criminal Court warrant No. 1310/2568 dated 16 Dec 2025. He is charged with attempted murder, causing grievous bodily harm, assault resulting in physical or mental injury, and openly carrying a weapon in public, residential, or communal areas without valid reason, including in gatherings for worship, entertainment, or other events.
