
Provincial Police Region 2 is advancing the project "Money Cash Back" a New Year sharing initiative returning over 1.17 million baht to victims of technology crime cases
On 25 December 2025, Police Major General Ekaphop Intawiwat, Deputy Commander of Provincial Police Region 2 and spokesperson, revealed the progress of the project "Money Cash Back: New Year Sharing, Returning Money to Victims of Technology Crime Cases" which is a key policy of Police Lieutenant General Chatchai Surachetpong, Commander of Provincial Police Region 2, focusing on accelerating asset recovery and delivering tangible justice to victims.
Provincial Police Region 2, through its Center for Suppressing Information Technology Crime, together with Samet Police Station in Chonburi Province, dismantled a network of mule accounts, mule stables, and cash flow operations of technology crime groups before the money could be transferred abroad, successfully recovering assets and returning cash directly to victims.
Police Lieutenant General Chatchai Surachetpong said this operation is a proactive crackdown on technology crime, aiming to "cut off the criminals' money flow" while swiftly restoring justice to victims to build public confidence and reassurance.
In a key case, officers infiltrated a social media network and uncovered illegal buying, selling, and renting of mule accounts, leading to multiple arrests across several networks. They seized over 1.5 million baht in cash along with numerous evidences and have been progressively returning funds to many victims in full.
