"Tok" Lock 4 of the Metropolitan Police investigation unit was arrested at a hotel in Samut Prakan following a gunfight with officers from Thaluang Police Station.
The suspect opened fire against officers from Thaluang Police Station while they were attempting to arrest him under a warrant, leading to a gunfight that injured one police officer and two bystanders on 24 Dec 2025 at 20:00 GMT+7.
On 25 Dec 2025, investigators from the Metropolitan Police IDMB, under the direction of Pol. Lt. Gen. Siam Boonsom, Commissioner of Metropolitan Police Bureau, and Pol. Lt. Gen. Nopphasin Poolsawad, Acting Commissioner, ordered a team led by Pol. Maj. Gen. Chotiwat Luangwilai, Commander of the Metropolitan Investigation Division, to deploy forces and successfully apprehend the suspect under arrest warrants.
The suspect, Mr. Burin Kaew Obchoi, known as "Tok," was arrested inside a hotel in Samut Prakan province.
Mr. Burin is wanted on charges including 1. attempted murder, 2. assault, and 3. illegal possession of firearms. Authorities are preparing to transfer the suspect to investigators for legal proceedings.
