Detention of Kan Welfare with Police Opposition to Bail He Claims I Am Being Bullied

Police have ordered the detention. Kan Welfare. They opposed bail, fearing he might flee if temporarily released, while he insisted, "I am being bullied."

At 08:40 on 26 Dec 2025 GMT+7, reports from Prachachuen Police Station stated that investigators brought Mr. Songkran Panphu, also known as "Kan Welfare," a suspect wanted under the Criminal Court warrant for charges including intentional murder, attempted murder, and firearm-related offenses, from the detention room to a prisoner transport vehicle. He was to be presented for an initial 12-day detention hearing at the Criminal Court on Ratchadaphisek Road, with bail opposed due to the serious nature of the case and high penalties, fearing he might abscond if released on bail. His mother had arrived early to visit him.

Reporters attempted to question the suspect, but Kan showed displeasure and loudly told the media to "Hey, get out of the way," before being escorted onto the prisoner transport vehicle.

Meanwhile, Kan's mother, who traveled from another province, tried to see her son. She said she had not seen him for over a year since he fled the case and wished to physically touch her son.

Kan's mother tearfully said, "Behave well and be patient. What happened is because we lost control when drunk. If we had been mindful, it wouldn't have come to this. I know. Please be patient. I will wait patiently. You must be patient too. When you go in, behave well to possibly receive a pardon." Kan himself briefly said, "I am being bullied," before respectfully greeting his mother with a wai.

Afterward, police drove the prisoner transport vehicle away from Prachachuen Police Station heading to the Ratchada Criminal Court to proceed with the legal detention process.
