Urgent: Bang Phlat police have detained a Lieutenant General and a Captain, submitting them to the Thaling Chan Criminal Court after the retired general surrendered and the Captain was arrested at his residence in Nonthaburi Province, in connection with a scandal involving rape and threatening video recordings against a female lieutenant.
The case involves Paweena Hongsakul, Chairwoman of the Paweena Hongsakul Foundation for Children and Women, who brought a 29-year-old female military lieutenant from a certain regiment. The lieutenant was allegedly kept as a mistress and physically abused by the retired Lieutenant General. When she tried to end the relationship, he planned to abduct her—binding her hands, gagging, and blindfolding her—then took her to a motel where she was assaulted, raped, and recorded on video. The perpetrators threatened, “If you report this, you will surely be killed.” A subordinate male officer with the rank of Captain was also involved. They met with Pol. Maj. Gen. Pallop Aermla, Deputy Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, Pol. Maj. Gen. Chaiya Phetpanya, Commander of Metropolitan Police Division 7, Pol. Col. Ruthee Pandam, Deputy Commander of the Metropolitan Police Bureau Investigation Division, and Pol. Col. Akkharaphon Janphet, Chief of Bang Phlat Police Station, to provide additional testimony and expedite the arrest and prosecution of the offenders.
On the morning of 27 December 2025 GMT+7, it was reported that investigators at Bang Phlat Police Station took the Lieutenant General and the Captain, both affiliated with a military unit, into custody and submitted them for remand hearing at Thaling Chan Criminal Court in relation to the scandalous case. The court proceedings are currently underway.
Paweena Hongsakul, Chairwoman of the Paweena Hongsakul Foundation for Children and Women, revealed that she was contacted by Pol. Maj. Gen. Pallop Aermla, Deputy Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, who informed her that after the two suspects were remanded, the female lieutenant victim filed opposition to bail with the court. The police have issued arrest warrants for the Lieutenant General and the Captain on charges including joint rape, joint assault, coercion to prevent action, and unlawful detention since the previous night.
The Lieutenant General surrendered at the Metropolitan Police Bureau Investigation Division last night, while the Captain was arrested at his residence in Nonthaburi Province. Both were taken to Thaling Chan Court this morning. Police have already opposed bail, citing the severity of the case and the heavy penalties involved.
Later, at 12:30 p.m., reports confirmed that after Bang Phlat police detained the Lieutenant General and the Captain in the case involving rape, video recording, and harassment of the female lieutenant, the suspects were brought before Thaling Chan Criminal Court. They face charges of joint rape, joint assault, coercion to prevent actions, and unlawful detention. Both police and the victim have opposed bail during the morning hearing.
The court has denied bail for the Lieutenant General and the Captain due to the grave nature of the case, the high penalties involved, and concerns that they might interfere with witnesses or evidence or attempt to flee. They will be held at Thonburi Special Prison.
