A young rider, jealous of his ex-girlfriend whom he had broken up with 2-3 months earlier, drew a gun and shot her dead in front of a rented room in Bang Na before fleeing and taking his own life to escape guilt.
At 22:59 on 27 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Police Lieutenant Colonel Natthanon Nabngamthanet, Deputy Investigation Officer of Bang Na Police Station, received a report of a fatal shooting at a rented room in Bang Na, Bangkok. He went to investigate with Police Colonel Surapong Sukyaem, Chief of Bang Na Police Station, forensic officers, a medical examiner from the Department of Forensic Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, and volunteers from Poh Teck Tung Foundation.
At the scene in front of a ground-floor rented room, the body of Ms. Sunisa, 27, a saleswoman at a gold shop, was found lying on her back. She wore a short-sleeve white-and-orange polo shirt and black pants. She had a gunshot wound from a .380 caliber bullet to the back of her head. One .380 caliber shell casing was found at the scene.
The perpetrator, identified as Mr. Peerapol, 28, fled down the alley after shooting the victim. He then attempted to take his own life with a homemade unregistered .380 caliber pistol. He was found gasping for breath with the gun near his right hand and one shell casing nearby. He was rushed to Thai Nakarin Hospital but died shortly after.
During questioning, the victim’s father said he rented and lived in a ground-floor room with his daughter. Mr. Peerapol, the perpetrator, worked as a rider and rented a room upstairs at the same location. He had been dating the daughter but was very jealous and had previously assaulted her, leading her to file a police report at Bang Na Police Station. They broke up 3-4 months ago. Afterward, his daughter had a new boyfriend, but Peerapol continued to be jealous. On the day of the incident, the father was drinking with his daughter near the rented room before they parted ways and he went to bed. Later, Peerapol came to speak with the daughter, and they had a violent argument. The father heard gunshots from his room, went to check, and found his daughter had been shot. He immediately called the police. Peerapol fled down the alley before taking his own life to escape responsibility.
Police Colonel Surapong Sukyaem, Chief of Bang Na Police Station, said investigations revealed that jealousy motivated Mr. Peerapol to shoot his ex-girlfriend and then himself to avoid punishment. Both bodies will be sent for autopsy at Chulalongkorn Hospital, and the families will be contacted to arrange religious funeral rites.
