A man carrying two methamphetamine pills came to the Mueang Nakhon Si Thammarat Police Station and asked officers to arrest him and send him to jail. He said he had undergone rehabilitation three times without success, relapsed each time, and wanted to quit completely. He feared developing mental illness from methamphetamine use.
Around noon on 28 Dec 2025, under the command of Pol. Col. Kittichai Krainara, superintendent of Mueang Nakhon Si Thammarat Police Station, and Pol. Lt. Col. Narakorn Eadchuay, deputy superintendent, patrol officers in cars and motorcycles were ordered to strictly enforce crime and drug control, including cracking down on modified motorcycles with loud exhausts in the area.
While Pol. Lt. Col. Sorayut Suwanchoti, patrol supervisor, Pol. Lt. Ekpong Khongkhao, deputy patrol supervisor, and patrol officers from unit Chp.4 were performing their regular duties at the station, a man aged about 20–25 entered the crime prevention center of Mueang Nakhon Si Thammarat Police Station. He took out two methamphetamine pills sealed in a packet from his pants pocket and admitted he wanted to be imprisoned. He said he had tried hospital rehabilitation three times, but each time after release he relapsed and used methamphetamine again.
He asked the police to arrest and prosecute him so he could be imprisoned and quit for good. He said that if he was not jailed, he would surely become mentally ill because of methamphetamine use.
Police took him into custody and identified him as Mr. Ronachai, also known as King (surname withheld), 23, from Tha Wang Subdistrict, Mueang District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. He was handed over to investigators at Mueang Nakhon Si Thammarat Police Station to be charged with possession of illegal drugs.
