"Big Joke" hurriedly clarified to the Anti-Corruption Police Division about the bribery case involving the NACC. He admitted feeling saddened by his subordinates coming forward with allegations but understood that everyone must look out for themselves. He believes his subordinates were misled by someone’s promises of reinstatement and insisted he personally holds no anger or resentment. He warned that if one goes astray by believing others outside the law, they risk being deceived.
At 10:30 a.m. on 29 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Police General Surachate Hakparn, former Deputy Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police, accompanied by lawyer Sanyaphachara Samart, arrived at the Anti-Corruption Police Division (ACPD). He revealed that he brought additional documentary evidence for investigators and reaffirmed his denial of the charge of giving gold bars to NACC commissioners as bribes, stating he never gave or ordered anyone to give gold to anyone. However, since accused by his own subordinates, he is willing to cooperate with the justice process.
Police General Surachate further remarked that he questions whether the investigation and evidence gathering complied with justice procedures or constitutional law, noting that no charges have been filed against those accusing him, despite their claims that he ordered the delivery of gold bars to others. The accusers themselves should face wrongdoing, yet only he has been prosecuted. He also said he was unaware that the investigative committee for this case was formed on 8 December and a complaint filed on 23 December. According to his experience, complaints should precede the formation of an investigative committee, so he questioned why the committee was formed before the complaint was filed against him.
Police General Surachate added that his current troubles stem from subordinates involved with the Minnie gambling website, including borrowing and transferring money, which has implicated him. Since the issue arose, no one except him has been dismissed from service; only his subordinates have been suspended. Even though he was a third or fourth-tier figure, not the main culprit, the disciplinary process against him was unusually swift, leading him to question the fairness of the proceedings.
He also stated that he had not contacted the subordinate in question for over a year and knew that the subordinate was upset and possibly resentful. He believed this stemmed from a live broadcast he did discussing the relationship between Minnie and that subordinate, which upset the subordinate because it affected his family. However, he felt compelled to speak the truth for public awareness and thought this was another reason for the subordinate’s complaint against him.
"Personally, I think they may have been influenced by someone's words or misled with promises of reinstatement. I just want to ask my subordinate: Are you sure you will be reinstated by doing this? Are you sure you won’t be used as a tool or abandoned midway?" said the former Deputy Commissioner-General of Police.
Police General Surachate added that he insists he is not angry at the subordinate for being misled. The police community knows he has always taken good care of his subordinates. He admitted feeling sad but did not blame anyone because he understands that everyone must protect themselves. However, he said survival should not come at such a cost. As for any further revelations, he said he welcomes them and will continue to fight through the legal process.
