Warning About Dangerous Individual: Immediate Police Notification Urged After Brutal Murder of Sergeant with 18 Stab Wounds

A warning has been issued about a dangerous individual after a local man addicted to drugs fatally stabbed a military sergeant. The Prachinburi City Police Chief reported the latest lead that the suspect fled by motorcycle to Pak Phli District, Nakhon Nayok Province, and is currently being actively pursued by authorities.

In the case of Sergeant Amnat Thongthaem, 52, from Prachinburi Province, who served at Chakrapong Camp Hospital, he was riding a tricycle for exercise near his home when Panuwat Kittithanavorakul, 39, a drug-addicted neighbor, attacked him with a sharp knife, stabbing him repeatedly 18 times. The victim’s neck was almost slit, causing him to die at the scene. Afterward, Panuwat fled on a blue-black Honda Wave 125 motorcycle. Police investigators have been searching for him but have not yet found him, as previously reported.

The latest update on 2 Jan 2026 from Pol. Col. Supharit Yuiprai, Chief of Prachinburi City Police Station, stated that investigators are reviewing CCTV footage from areas where the suspect likely fled. They confirmed that the suspect escaped by motorcycle to Pak Phli District, Nakhon Nayok Province. Police have contacted the suspect’s elder sister, Ms. Sailarin, 44, urging her to persuade her brother to surrender soon. However, the suspect has kept his phone off continuously, making contact impossible.

At the sermon hall of Wat Khotchasarnmuni in Khok Mai Lai Subdistrict, the parents and relatives of Sergeant Amnat, the deceased, visited the temple to pay respects. They then offered breakfast to their son’s spirit before leaving the temple to return to their hometown in Lopburi Province. They plan to return in the evening to attend the funeral ceremony.
