From the epic scandal in the police force, Big Joke, Pol. Gen. Surachate Hakparn, former Deputy Commissioner of Police, and six others are facing new charges involving allegations of offering 246 baht of gold bars worth approximately 10 million baht as bribes to officials of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) to drop a 2024 gambling case. Pol. Col. Phakphum Pisamai, also known as Rong Nueng, former Deputy Commander of Investigation Division 4, and a close aide to Pol. Gen. Surachate, has disclosed this information.

Surachate, insists he has no intent to harass or harm anyone but wants the facts to be revealed for fairness to all. He acknowledged having spoken to other close aides of Big Joke, who told him, "It's like we are in cages, each confined by our own conditions. Some are trapped by fear; others by loyalty. Now that the cage doors are open for everyone, the rest depends on each person to step out on their own."
Regarding Pol. Col. Phakphum Pisamai, also known as Nueng, he is a graduate of the 52nd Police Cadet Academy (Class 52). He is the son of Pol. Col. Sampan Pisamai, Class 25, and the elder brother of Pol. Col. Khemrin Pisamai, Class 51, former superintendent of the Immigration Police in Chanthaburi Province.
Pol. Col. Phakphum built his career in investigation and narcotics suppression. He first served in 1999 at the Narcotics Suppression Bureau. In 2001, he transferred to Provincial Police Region 1 and the Metropolitan Police Bureau as deputy traffic inspector. In 2006, he was appointed head of the Special Operations Unit at Khon Kaen Provincial Police, leading the narcotics suppression team there.
He is a vigorous officer with notable achievements, having solved several high-profile cases. He gained recognition during the 'Preaw Dismemberment' case while serving as superintendent of Khao Suan Kwang Police Station in Khon Kaen. He also worked on the famous 'Amy Cyanide' case and cases exposing police corruption, such as the shooting of Pol. Lt. Sivakorn Saibua, a highway police inspector, who died at a party hosted by former subdistrict chief Praween Chanklai in Takong Subdistrict, Mueang Nakhon Pathom District, on 6 Sep 2023.
