"Lawyer Roengyot" confirmed "Lawyer Tum" is in good health, though mentally he may be worried, concerned about his child and family. He also stated he is unaware of the cause of the dispute "Sira" in prison.
At 11:30 a.m. on 7 Jan 2025 GMT+7, Mr. Roengyot Sapnguenthong, a lawyer, along with his team, visited Mr. Sitthira Bieabangkerd, known as "Lawyer Tum," who is charged with conspiracy to commit fraud and money laundering involving deceiving Ms. Chatuporn Ubonlert, or "Je Aoy," a wealthy Thai woman, into buying online lottery tickets and a luxury Mercedes-Benz worth 111 million baht.
At 12:15 p.m., after the visit, Mr. Roengyot said he came to visit Lawyer Tum as usual. Regarding details reported in the news, he suggested asking the prison authorities, as Lawyer Tum is under the care of Bangkok Remand Prison. Most of their discussion during the visit concerned legal matters, with no particular cause for concern.
Lawyer Tum did not request anything special. Details about the legal defense strategy cannot be disclosed as it might affect the case. However, Lawyer Tum was found to be in good health and responded well. Mentally, he may be worried about his child and family, which is normal given his imprisonment.
When asked about the 6 Jan statement from the Department of Corrections clarifying that Lawyer Tum is physically well, not emaciated, and not taking psychiatric medication to aid sleep, Mr. Roengyot said this aligns with the Department’s statement since Lawyer Tum is under the prison’s care. Whatever explanation the prison provides is considered accurate.
However, there was no discussion about Mr. Sira Jenjaka, who recently claimed there was a dispute in prison, as Mr. Roengyot has not followed the news or spoken about this matter.
