At 15:50 on 8 Jan 2026, Police Lieutenant Colonel Trinet Suwannang, Deputy Inspector (Investigation) of Bueng Kum Police Station, received reports of youths riding motorcycles chasing and shooting at each other with multiple injuries near Nida Intersection on Seri Thai Road inbound, Khlong Kum Subdistrict, Bueng Kum District, Bangkok. He, along with Police Major General Kampanat Arunkiriroj, Commander of Metropolitan Police Division 4; Police Colonel Sanya Ubonviratna, Superintendent of Bueng Kum Police Station; Police Colonel Thanyaphat Boonsuk, Superintendent of Investigation Division of Metropolitan Police Division 4; forensic officers; and volunteers from Siam Ruam Jai Foundation, went to investigate.
At the scene, a white Toyota Cross registered in Bangkok was found with two bullet holes on the left front door and one hole on the window glass. The driver, 42-year-old Rujiraporn Joysaengsri, was hit by glass shards on her left arm and was sent to Ramkhamhaeng Hospital.
Also found was a red Honda PCX motorcycle without a license plate with two passengers. The first, 18-year-old Paphakon, was shot twice—once grazing his neck and once on the head—with an unknown caliber firearm and was injured. The second, 17-year-old Phoraphat, was shot once in the right arm with an unknown caliber firearm and injured. Both were taken to Nopparat Hospital. The driver, known as Boy (a pseudonym), aged 16, was not injured.
Boy, a friend of the injured, said they and their friends are technical college students riding three motorcycles with a total of seven people. The motorcycle that was shot had three riders. They were traveling from Minburi toward Nida Intersection when approximately four people on two motorcycles approached and fired unknown firearms at them, injuring some of his group. A local sedan driver traveling alongside them was also injured by stray bullets. The perpetrators fled toward Ban Ma Intersection.
Authorities will initially review CCTV footage from the scene to track down the suspects and proceed with legal action.
